Milwaukee was the host city for the IndustryWeek 2008 Best Plants Conference, which featured seven plant tours, more than 50 speakers and nearly 800 participants. The conference celebrated both the achievements of the past, particularly by honoring the 10 recipients of the 2007 IW Best Plants Awards, as well as the trailblazing work being done to create a culture of continuous improvement in facilities throughout North America.

DHL and Infor Offer Green SCO

A Vision Of Second Life


Linden Labs' "virtual world" fantasy computer game has no dragons or damsels in distress, and yet is experiencing a near-exponential growth rate in the last two years. Every day, $1.6 million dollars are changing hands, spurring many companies to open the equivalent of a major branch office in-world. Others are playing the game through sponsorships and designing products for the user community, and still others are using Second Life as a virtual conference room.
