ByDeborah Austin Manugistics Group and Cognos have launched a global alliance to integrate Cognos' analytic capabilities with Manugistics solutions for visibility into key metrics, with interactive access to historical and real-time information. Manugistics, Rockville, Md., is an Enterprise Profit Optimization (EPO) solutions provider; Cognos -- Ottawa, Canada - is a business intelligence (BI) provider. Under the alliance, the Cognos Series 7 business intelligence product line will be embedded as the analytic engine in Manugistics NetWORKS ONEview, an information access product supporting the Manugistics 7 series EPO platform that includes supply-chain management. NetWORKS ONEview enables operational monitoring and performance measurement, including multi-dimensional views of business data and analytical support for optimized design and performance. Cognos Series 7 integrates BI components -- including reporting/analysis, event detection and scorecarding -- into an end-to-end framework.
