Inalfa, a Netherlands-based automotive components manufacturer, will use iBaan for Automotive to support its drive to optimize the transfer of information on design, planning, manufacturing and distribution among its worldwide engineering, production, purchasing and sales facilities in the Netherlands and other countries. Inalfa supplies roof systems for BMW AG, DaimlerChrysler, Mitsubishi Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co., Volvo AB, PSA group, Renault SA, Nissan Motor Co., General Motors Corp. and VAG Group. Inalfa initially will implement iBaan for Automotive across its Roof Systems and Metal Products divisions in the Netherlands to streamline information and business processes among its departments and supply chain, with the system subsequently being rolled out to its sites in Slovakia, the U.S., the UK and Italy, as well as to Inalfa's customers and suppliers. According to Frank Boekholtz, IT director at Inalfa, "the Baan solution covered all of our specific automotive industry requirements -- dealing with just-in-time manufacturing, sequential delivery, self billing and so on. The iBaan solution can support us as we look to streamline our supply chain and achieve real product collaboration with our customers -- a vital move in such a competitive industry." iBaan for Automotive provides a range of applications covering ERP, PLM, CRM, SCM, collaborative private exchanges and manufacturing execution systems. Baan is headquartered in the Netherlands.
