ByDeborah Austin Eaton Aerospace, manufacturer of precision-engineered products for the aerospace industry, has chosen NetVendor to launch its first e-commerce initiative. The Web-based solution -- NetVendor's E.MBRACE technology -- will be implemented at all Eaton's facilities, providing an online ordering system for its nationwide 23-distributor network. With 24-hour access to Eaton's products and services, distributors can give design specifications, place orders, get price information, and delivery timetables in realtime. "As Eaton's product line became more complex, it became necessary to expand the capabilities of our distribution ordering system," says Rick Miller, Eaton director of information technology. The $500 million Eaton Aerospace's parent company is $8.4 billion Cleveland-based Eaton Corp. NetVendor, headquartered in Atlanta, is a provider of collaborative Internet software and services for business-to-business supplier enablement.
