SugarCRM Inc. has introduced a hosted version of its Sugar Sales Professional customer relationship application, a customizable, commercial open source CRM service. Called Sugar On-Demand, the service is aimed at businesses that either lack appropriate IT resources or need an immediate solution. The service, explains Cupertino, Calif.-based SugarCRM, is aimed at organizations with between five and 500 users. Among its features, Sugar On-Demand provides users with the ability to track customer information, document customer interaction, track marketing activities and support case management for customer problems. Additionally, the company says, users of the on-demand service can migrate the solution to an in-house application without losing the customized application. SugarCRM can migrate both the Sugar On-Demand database and the application software to any in-house system the customer chooses. Sugar On-Demand pricing starts at $39.95 per user per month.
