Survey Shows Many Industrial Buyers Expect Return To Normalcy Soon

Compiled By Jill Jusko More than one-third (42%) of respondents to a December 2001 online poll said they expect industrial buying to return to normal during the second quarter of 2002. Another 27% expect that it will happen in the third quarter. Among the remaining respondents, 16% believe normalcy will return during the first quarter of 2002, 8% believe it will happen in the fourth quarter and 7% believe a return to buying normalcy won't occur until 2003 or beyond. The December survey -- part of the Thomas Register Industrial Purchasing Barometer survey series -- was conducted randomly among the Thomas Register.com's pool of opt-in industrial buyers. Some 359 respondents participated in the survey. ThomasRegister.com provides free online sourcing information.
