UCCnet, a not-for-profit organization that provides item registry and synchronization services, added some 566 new companies in the first quarter of 2004 and surpassed the 3,000 subscribers mark as of March 31, 2004. This global, Internet-based electronic commerce service provides a registry that serves as a source for companies to store product data, making it possible for trading partners to have access to up-to-date, industry-compliant trading information. It is a subsidiary of the Uniform Code Council Inc. UCCnets subscriber base includes retailers and manufacturers in a variety of sectors, including grocery, textile, furniture, jewelry, apparel, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and office supplies. Subscribers include Office Depot, Tyson Foods and the Scotts Co. We have created strong partnerships, says Dan Wilkinson, UCCnets vice president of business development. The UCCnet community increases the collective value by increasing the number of trading relationships. The company is based in Lawrenceville, N.J.
