If you are wondering about the latest wages and salaries for a host of warehousing-related positions, the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC) has produced the information resource you may be seeking. The Oak Brook, Ill.-based professional society has released its 2004 edition of Warehousing Salaries & Wages. The latest edition includes information on 15 warehousing positions. "The report indicates pay increases almost across the board -- an interesting fact in the current economic environment," says WERC Executive Director Robert Shaunnessey. An example of information detailed in the 2004 edition shows that workers on second and third shift receive 30 cents to 50 cents per hour more than first-shift workers. The typical warehouse surveyed had 4,300 square feet of warehouse space per full-time employee, according to WERC. Visit the WERC Web site for more information or to purchase the WERC report.
