FANUC Robotics America Inc. is showcasing its intelligent robotic solutions designed for the solar industry and other green technologies during Solar Power International 08, Oct. 13-16, in San Diego, Calif.

According to Rush LaSelle, general manager, FANUC Robotics West, industrial robots are now used to automate a multitude of processes required throughout the entire supply chain in producing a solar panel. FANUC Robotics has over 200 robot model variations with payload capabilities ranging from 2kg to 1,200kg. In addition, the company offers simulation packages, application software, controls and integrated vision products.

"We are able to provide alternative energy manufacturers and suppliers a competitive advantage compared to manual processes, hard automation and offshore manufacturing," added LaSelle. "From brick, wafer and module lines for the solar industry, to carbon fiber lay-up and trimming for the wind energy, FANUC Robotics and our integration partners look at every step in the manufacturing process to optimize our customer's operations."
