Munich prosecutors said May 11 they were investigating more than 100 people in connection with suspected corruption at German industrial group MAN.

Staff at the group were among those being probed, along with outsiders who may helped distribute bribes aimed at boosting sales of MAN buses and heavy trucks, the prosecutor's office said.

Two people were placed in detention last week and one is still being held after investigators launched searches to check for evidence of illegal commissions worth several million euros from 2002-2005.

German media reports have said that cash bribes of around 10 million euros (US13.5 million) were paid worldwide.
