Responding to customer demand for accelerated, unified access to detailed enterprise data for improved business visibility, the partnership aims to deliver a seamlessly integrated and scalable solution that lowers total cost of ownership and consolidates data on one database platform, according to Teradata.
Companies that use both Teradata and SAP products have various databases for their data warehouses, and use different business intelligence (BI) tools to analyze that data. Most have at least one SAP NetWeaver BW data warehouse. As a result of the new agreement, customers will benefit from an integrated end-to-end offering, including data warehouse infrastructure and management and BI tools, according to Teradata.

Teradata is endorsing SAP as a strategic partner for analytics and BI products. The partnership agreement also renews and expands Teradata's role as a reseller and as a strategic database platform for the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio, which provides open, heterogeneous solutions in the areas of business intelligence, information management, governance, risk and compliance, enterprise performance management and all the components of the SAP NetWeaver technology platform.
Additionally, SAP and Teradata will seek to leverage their joint business intelligence solutions in non-SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) accounts.

The integrated system will be showcased at the SAP Co-Innovation Lab in Palo Alto, Calif. The "hands-on" working lab provides opportunities for customers to collaborate with SAP and Teradata on real-world simulations to validate possible investment decisions in advance.
