Cool Thing Of The Day: Exploded Diagram Of VW Bug ... In An Art Gallery

Every once in a while, I come across something tangential to my real mission in this blog (next-gen marketing and emerging technology) but interesting and relevant enough to maybe spur some different thinking. Damian Ortega's artwork is one of those tangents that I thought I'd pass along. The work below is called "Cosmic Thing", and reminds me of a cross between a technical diagram and a prop from The Matrix. It also reminds me of the first book I used to learn how to work on cars -- the user-friendly, cartoon-filled "How To Keep Your Volkswagen Alive" manual.

In my mind, this work exposes both the precise simplicity and the puzzle-like complexity of modern automotive manufacturing.

Enjoy!

This would be valid if only colleagues could interact. I have seen many workplaces in large organizations where only management can interact. All infomation must flow through managers. To make it worse the work layout does not support interactions. ... If you want the benefits of co-location you have to have the right management structure and the right physical structure!!!
