Snowmobile
Tour: Join us on the most popular two-hour Rocky Mountain
back country adventure into the White River National Forest. Ride from 8,000
feet to 10,500 feet over miles of maintained trails with acres of open play
areas. Enjoy views of Vail's Back Bowls, Notch Mountain, the Continental Divide
and three surrounding mountain ranges while warming up with a hot beverage at a
historic 1930's log cabin.
Mush!:
Experience the intricate sport of dog sledding on a private trail less than 30
minutes from Vail. The sleds will take you through glades of Aspen and Pine
trees often encountering wildlife including fox, coyote, deer and elk. Having a
private trail has its advantages as we pretty much have the trail to ourselves.
Our competitors in contrast are also snowmobile companies that use the same
trails for dog sledding and snowmobile tours. What's the difference?
Snowmobiles tear up the trails leaving them with a bumpy washboard finish where
dogsled trails are smooth for a more comfortable ride. The noise and smell of
snowmobiles really take away from the natural beauty found on our tours.
Imagine the sound of the dogs feet hitting the snow and snow crunching under
the runners. Come enjoy the quiet solitude of nature and all it splendor found
on this four-legged winter adventure.
Vail
Public Art & Gallery Tour: Guests will be treated to a
customized private tour of Vails public art collection lasting approximately 2
hours. The first stop on the tour is the Colorado Ski Museum where participants
will learn about the importance of the 10th Mountain Division during WWII and
the history of skiing in Vail. The tour then winds its way through the Village
with discussions of the history of the Vail Valley, the founding of Vail
Resorts, and the importance of site specific commissioned art in creating the
charm and beauty of the Village. The gallery tours will introduce participants
to approximately six galleries within Vail Village. Guests will have a wine and
cheese sampling at the last gallery to discuss the day in review and will have
some time to visit other galleries or shops on their own in Vail Village.
Walking
Mountains: Explore your curious nature with an environmental
educator for a one-of-a kind outdoors experience. Custom nature hike options
include Wildlife Detectives, The Big Freeze, Winter Survival or Mountain Lion
Mayhem. Join local naturalists for an educational and illuminating look at the
wild side.
Snowcat
Tour: The heated snowcoach is perfect for guests who want to
enjoy the beautiful Rockies in the winter without being cold! Travel with ease
in a 13-passenger, fully enclosed, heated, four-track vehicle that maneuvers
over the snow. The trails wind their way through the White River National
Forest at historic Camp Hale. Enjoy the pristine beauty of the back country
with majestic views of the Colorado Rockies and the Continental Divide. Climb
to elevations as high as 12,500 feet and enjoy the beautiful 3600 views at the
top. Trip time is two hours on trail.
