-- Wichita, KS
A world-leading manufacturer of innovative transportation solutions, from
commercial aircraft and business jets to rail transportation equipment, systems
and services, Bombardier Inc. is a global corporation headquartered in Canada.
Bombardier acquired Learjet in 1990 and immediately began to infuse new energy
and resources into product development. The Learjet 31 made its first flight in
October of 1991. It was followed by the Learjet 60, which debuted in 1993, and
the Learjet 45, which took to the air on its maiden flight 32 years to the day
after the Learjet 23, on October 7, 1995. Current models in production are the
Learjet 40XR, Learjet 45XR, Learjet 60XR, and the Learjet 85 aircraft.
Launched on October 30, 2007, the Learjet 85 aircraft was the first Bombardier
Aerospace jet to feature an all-composite structure and the first all-composite
structure business jet designed for type certification under U.S. Federal
Aviation Administration FAR Part 25. An extraordinary advancement in next
generation flight, the Learjet 85 aircraft's all-composite structure maximizes
cabin comfort while minimizing drag and improving performance.
