Camden, N.J. is the preferred location of its new corporate headquarters, Subaru of America, Inc. announced on Dec. 8.
The new site is approximately four miles from the company's current location in Cherry Hill, N.J.
"We are very excited to be moving this project forward as we seek to bring all of our corporate employees together on one site, in a first class facility,” said Thomas J. Doll, COO of Subaru of America. “This move cements the long-term future of Subaru in the Delaware Valley and we are pleased that after more than 45 years here, we can plan to continue to be a part of the local community we have supported for so long."
Subaru of America has had its corporate headquarters in N.J. since 1969 and has been in its current location in Cherry Hill since 1986. The company also has local offices in Pennsauken, N.J.
The new site is adjacent to the Campbell Gateway District and is currently owned by Campbell Soup Company. Subaru of America will house more than 500 employees and contractors in the new facility that at 250,000 square feet will be double the size of the current HQ building.
The new building is planned to bring on to one campus various functions of the company including sales, marketing, service and administration that are presently housed across three separate sites in southern New Jersey.
Subaru plans to complete the project by fourth quarter, 2016 or early 2017.
