The world's biggest oil companies continue to dominate this year's IW 1000, even though many of them had a rough year financially.

Big Oil—the companies that constitute the IW 1000 Petroleum & Coal Products sector—secured seven of the top 10 spots in this year's ranking. That sector also holds 137 of the top 1,000 spots, thereby widely outdistancing the three next most heavily represented sectors—Chemicals, Computers, and Primary Metals—which respectively placed 95, 92, and 72 companies in the top 1,000.

This slideshow provides snapshots of the world's top 10 revenue-producing oil companies, with key stats showing how they performed in their most recent fiscal year.
