Agreed that the president has that much influence on this.
Also universal health care would be good for manufacturing, relieving business of the burden of providing health care for employees. it makes employees more mobile. US companies are at a competitive disadvantage to those countires that have it
It actually saddens me to see that so far 72% of respondents actually feel that who is President will make much of a difference. In the current "us vs them" atmosphere, unless TOTAL control of both House and Senate are in the President's hand, the minority party (D or R) will stonewall any action until the next election. The "fiscal cliff" is the most visable result of this Congressional posturing. As an aside, we don't have "Universal health care", to bad because that would be very benefitial to business and our economy.
Universal Healthcare has never worked anywhere. Moving any decision making into the hands of those that only work for a paycheck and away from those that care about the mission is crazy in any field.
