EnerSys, a manufacturer of industrial batteries, announced recently that it plans to construct a new battery manufacturing facility in Gaoyou City, Jiangsu Province, China for the production of industrial batteries.
The batteries will be distributed in both China and international markets.
The company has manufactured industrial batteries in China for over 20 years and currently operates two manufacturing plants, one in Jiangsu Province and one in Chongqing. The Gaoyou plant will be in located in a zoned industrial area close to the company’s existing Jiangsu facility.
The new facility will produce both motive power batteries for the forklift battery market and reserve power batteries to serve the telecommunication, energy and uninterruptible power supply industries.
“Demand for our products in China and the Asia region, especially for motive power batteries continues to grow, and we remain committed to meeting the needs of our valued customers in the region. This investment will allow for our continued growth in the Asian markets,” stated John D. Craig, CEO of EnerSys.
