Qualcomm, a leader in developing and delivering innovative digital wireless communications products and services based on its CDMA digital technology, came under new management in July. Paul E. Jacobs became CEO, and Steven Altman is now president.
In his new role, Jacobs sees a bright future. "I see increasing opportunities for Qualcomm to deliver new products and technologies that enhance the mobile phone's role as the most personal electronic device in a world where wireless, computing, entertainment and consumer electronics are converging. We will continue our focus on execution, innovation and collaboration to rapidly bring new differentiated services to the wireless market, creating even greater value for our customers, partners, consumers and our shareholders," he said in a July 1 press release.
