Adds CEO Paul E. Jacobs: "We shipped a record 207 million MSM chips in fiscal 2006 -- up from 151 million in fiscal 2005. As of September 2006, there were approximately 402 million subscribers using third generation (3G) CDMA-based networks worldwide as compared to approximately 273 million at the same point in 2005."
Jacobs also has an optimistic assessment for the rest of 2007: "Based on our current outlook, thanks primarily to stronger than expected chipset demand across our product portfolio and higher CDMA2000 handset shipments, we are raising our fiscal 2007 revenue and earnings per share guidance."
