Technology & Innovation Awards FAQ

General Information

  1. What do the awards recognize?
    Each year IndustryWeek's Readers' Choice Technology and Innovation Awards celebrate outstanding achievement in technology.

  2. How many award categories are there?
    IndustryWeek confers awards in two categories -- Technology Leader of the Year and Technologies of the Year.

  3. What do the award categories signify?
    The Technology Leader of the Year is honored for leadership and achievements in technology and innovation, while the Technologies of the Year awards recognize specific innovations or technologies.

  4. Who are the recipients?
    The award for Technology Leader of the Year is given to a person. Recipients of the Technologies of the Year awards are the primary organizations involved with the development of the winning technologies.

  5. How many winners are selected?
    IndustryWeek selects one Technology Leader of the Year and several Technologies of the Year.

  6. How are the winners determined?
    In 2007 IndustryWeek editors will select the Technology Leader of the Year based on nominations from readers. The winners of the Readers' Choice Technologies of the Year awards will be based on the results of a Web-based reader poll.

  7. When are the winners announced?
    IW profiles the winners in its December issue.



Eligibility And Nominations

  1. What determines eligibility for Technology Leader of the Year nominations?
    Nominees must relate in a significant way to accomplishments and achievements in the year entered.

  2. What is the nomination procedure?
    Technology Leader Of The Year: Readers must download and complete the nomination questionnaire. Nominations are closed. If you have any questions contact John Teresko at (216) 931-9430.
    Technologies of the Year: The winners of the Readers' Choice Technologies of the Year awards will be based on the results of a Web-based reader poll. The poll is closed.

  3. Who were last year's winners?
    In 2006, E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company's Charles O. Holliday Jr., chairman and CEO, was selected as the Technology Leader of the Year.
