Description

September 28: New Strategies & Tools for Managing Risk

Risk-based planning is a familiar concept for most companies. Most business leaders realize that managing operational risk is critical to lowering operating and auditing costs, reducing operating loss, increasing customer and staff satisfaction, optimizing insurance coverage and premiums, and promoting compliance with regulatory requirements. But recognizing the importance of risk management doesn't always translate to having an effective strategy or system in place.

Join DuPont Sustainable Solutions, a leading provider of operations consulting services, for a two-part webinar series on new strategies and tools for managing risk. In the first webinar on September 28, we'll explore:

  • What is operational risk management and what does it have to do with safety?
  • Why not all companies, or even business units, have the same risk profile, therefore they should not be treated the same.
  • The importance of an integrated approach to managing risk and safety.
  • How do you measure the strength of your integrated management system and your cultural maturity?
  • How safety perception surveys are a measure to assess where you are in your safety journey.

October 25: The People Dimension of Risk

Every organization is on a safety maturity curve, striving toward improved risk management and safety performance. To guide us along the journey and move us forward, we develop rules and regulations, implement processes and procedures, create safeguards and deliver training. Despite all of the systems, equipment and training, we are still willing to take risks. Why?

During this October 25 webinar, we'll explore:

  • The impact of the subconscious on risk-based decision making
  • How can we merge behavioral-based thinking with risk-based thinking?
  • Reducing unsafe decisions through personal safety awareness
  • Affective communications to engage employee, change attitudes and transform behaviors
