Creating a seamless connection between a manufacturer's enterprise resource planning system and Internet-based and EDI transactions is the purpose of a new partnership between J.D. Edwards & Co. and Future Three Software Inc. Aimed at the automotive-supplier industry, the two firms' combined technology allows users of J.D. Edwards software to receive customer orders electronically using standard formats.

Future Three's Auto Release handles EDI requirements for more than 90 automotive trading partners. Transactions from Future Three's EDI system are automatically transferred into J.D. Edwards' One World and World Vision business systems through a configurable interface. "Together, J.D. Edwards' One World solution and Future Three's Auto Release system will provide us with a seamless tier-one automotive business/EDI application solution," says Steve Shubert, MIS director at ASC Inc., a manufacturer of sunroofs and accessories for nearly two dozen auto-related firms.
