Compiled ByJill Jusko Supply chain solutions provider Manhattan Associates Inc. has increased its reverse logistics capabilities with the purchase of ReturnCentral Inc., a Pittsburgh-based provider of reverse supply chain software. The deal is expected to close later this quarter. ReturnCentral's solutions will be integrated into Manhattan Associates' Trading Partner Management Solutions, providing new functionality, the Atlanta-based company said. That added functionality includes:
  • a return policy rules engine;
  • decision support for return to stock, liquidate and scrap inventory routing to automate stock routing based on item quality and volumes;
  • automated, semi automated and manual return merchandise authorizations;
  • robust workflow engine with a drag-and-drop configuration tool.
"Creating efficiencies in the reverse supply chain is an often overlooked opportunity for companies to further streamline their overall supply chain," notes David Hommrich, ReturnCentral founder and CEO.
