Business Inventories Rise In January

Inventories held by U.S. businesses, including manufacturers, were slightly higher at the end of January than economists generally expected.

Inventories were $1.31 trillion, up four-tenths of a percentage point from December 2005s end-of-the-month figure, the U.S. Commerce Department reported on March 14.
