Compared with the May figure which had shown expansion of 2.4%, French industrial production was flat in June, the official statistics institute INSEE reported on Aug. 10

Manufacturing output, excluding production by the energy and agro-food sectors, fell by 0.5% in June on a monthly basis, having risen by 2.9% in May.

Production by the auto sector fell by 4.0%.

At finance house Asteres, analyst Nicolas Bouzou said: "It is not particularly worrying that industrial production was stable in June after a very good month in May. But in the quarter, the increase is 0.8%, a figure which is far from sparkling."
