The yuan's revaluation has not dented Japanese business leaders' expectations on China but they remain keen to expand into Vietnam and other nations to reduce risks, a report said July 23. A survey of 72 company managers on July 22 found some 53% were planning to continue expanding within China despite Bejing's decision to revalue its yuan, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun said.

None of the executives polled said they were considering reducing operations there, the economic daily said.

While still keen to explore the huge potential market in China, many companies however wanted to avoid the risk of focusing too strongly on their Chinese operations. About 33% of the companies said they were diversifying their businesses into other countries or would consider it.

Cited by nine companies, Vietnam was the most popular destination into which the companies wished to expand. Seven companies mentioned India, six Thailand.
