United States Steel Corp. named its current Clairton, Pa., plant manager vice president of operations at its Slovak Republic subsidiary U. S. Steel Kosice effective Dec. 1, the company said Nov. 29.
Mark Tabler succeeds Patrick Mullarkey, who was recently named president of United Spiral Pipe, the company's large-diameter spiral welded pipe manufacturing joint venture located in Pittsburg, Calif. James Dudek will succeed Tabler as the Clairton plant manager.
In his new role, Tabler will be responsible for oversight of day-to-day operations at the subsidiary's facilities. Tabler, 49, joined U. S. Steel in November 2006 as director-coke battery assessment at the company's Pittsburgh headquarters. Prior to arriving at U. S. Steel, he spent 19 years at AK Steel.Tabler was appointed to his most recent position as Clairton plant manager in March 2008.
Dudek will oversee the coking and coal chemical operations at the company's largest coke making facility located near Pittsburgh. Dudek, 36, began his U. S. Steel career in 1996 as a management associate in quality assurance at the company's Gary Works in Gary, Ind.
