Eager for E-procurement

Oct. 8, 2008
Factors fueling new software adoption continue to focus on procurement's core goals.

While technology solutions within the e-procurement space have evolved since its inception years ago, analyst firm Aberdeen Group says companies haven't lost focus on the core goals within the procurement department. According to one of the firm's recent benchmark reports, the top drivers of e-procurement initiatives still center around reducing costs and increasing compliance. Some of the report's findings:

54 percentage of respondents who say their top driver is to improve compliance

41 percent who are looking for lower requisition-to-order costs

38 percent who want to reduce maverick spend

31 percent who are interested in reducing requisition-to-order cycle times

30 percent who cite a lack of requisition-to-order efficiency
