Conference Board Plans January Logistics Conference Miami is the location for the Conference Board's Jan. 26-28, 2004, logistics conference. Aptly titled "The 2004 Logistics Conference: Best in Class Strategies, Technologies and Results," the event will address a long list of topics, including:

  • Decision guidance systems: How premier global companies are gaining competitive advantage in transportation;
  • Strategic outsourcing of logistics operations;
  • Key metrics for logistics from supplier to the customer;
  • The continuing role of technology in the logistics industry.
Scheduled speakers include Robert Gifford, vice president of logistics, Hewlett-Packard Co.; Vincent W. Hartnett, president, Penske Logistics; and Mike Allan, vice president of supply chain and e-business, Black & Decker Corp.
