The Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) is launching training for crisis management and business recovery in the supply chain. DaimlerChrysler Corp., Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Corp., along with automotive industry suppliers, developed the crisis management process, according to the Southfield, Mich.-based non-profit association. Training launches Aug. 3 "As recent crises suggest, the supply chain is vulnerable," says Andrew J. Cummins, AIAG executive director and CEO. "A domino effect in the supply chain may be created when disruptions occur at any single point." AIAG says its training class builds on its guideline for crisis management in the auto supply chain. The guideline give companies tools and exercises to train co-workers and validate the crisis management plan.
