Alliance Promises Integrated Supply Chain Planning, Execution

RedPrairie Corp. and webplan Corp. are pooling their resources to deliver an integrated supply chain planning and execution solution they say addresses two important business problems: a lack of accurate logistics costs and a lack of real-time inventory and event information. The two software companies say they have formed an alliance to address these challenges. It is the first partnership of its kind between these two organizations, says Newport Beach, Calif.-based webplan. Waukesha, Wis.-based RedPrairie says the software solution provided by this alliance integrates logistics cost and service information with real-time changes to inventory or delivery exceptions to help planners improve their decision-making. As one example of what the integrated solution will offer, planners can evaluate multiple supply and manufacturing plans to compare total supply chain costs, including optimized transportation costs. The integrated solution will be demonstrated at RedPrairie's annual user conference April 2-4 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
