Aspect Augments ERP Systems

Aspect Development Inc. is offering the Strategic Procurement Module (SPM), a new decision support system for managing procurement at the strategic level. With the new system, companies can consolidate purchasing information from multiple enterprise systems to manage suppliers. Aspec's SPM allows companies to consolidate their inbound supply chain, enabling them to pay less for goods they purchase. "Companies with revenues of $1 billion spend as much as $400 million on purchased production materials," says Dave Horne, marketing vice president at Aspect in Mountain View, Calif. By strategically consolidating the supplier base and reducing the variety of components purchased and stocked, Aspect's SPM can save such companies as much as $50 million a year."
