Compiled ByDeborah Austin Two global aviation engine manufacturers are launching a collaborative component repair agreement to serve customers. Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp. (P&WC) and Honeywell Aerospace will act as suppliers to each other, performing component repairs on selected models of Honeywell and P&WC aviation engines. The repairs will be done at P&WC and Honeywell locations in the U.S. and Canada. Because repairs will be developed in concurrence with the OEMs, component design integrity will be maintained -- offering customers lower cost-of-ownership -- says Bernd Kessler, vice president and general manager, Honeywell Aerospace Services. P&WC -- Longueuil, Quebec, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. -- manufactures engines for aircraft and industrial applications. Honeywell Aerospace, Phoenix, is the aerospace business of diversified manufacturer Honeywell.
