Avon, Roche Team Up To Develop Women's Health Products

U.S.-based Avon Products Inc. and Swiss drugmaker Roche have united to produce and sell vitamins and health products targeted at women and their families. Products will be available in 2001. Avon was expected to launch a new line of women's health products to accelerate sales growth. In addition to vitamins and nutritional supplements, the line will include products for exercise and stress management. The five-year agreement calls for Roche's consumer health division to develop the nutritional products and Avon to distribute them via its traditional sales force as well as the Internet and retail kiosks. The line will be sold in 15 countries.
