Compiled ByTraci Purdum BAX Global Inc., a transportation and supply-chain-management company based in Irvine, Calif., has launched a custom distribution service that will streamline costs as well as the paper work involved in importing shipments to the U.S., Canada and Mexico. DirectShip North America consolidates multiple shipments originating outside the U.S. into one shipment, arranges a direct consolidation, expedites U.S. customs clearance, breaks down the consolidated shipment into individual shipments and delivers to multiple destinations throughout North America using BAX's integrated, mode neutral transportation network. "DirectShip is an ideal cost and time saver for customers trying to gain greater control over their global inventory systems and supply-chain-management expenses," says Joseph L. Carnes, president, BAX Global Inc. "This new service eliminates the complexity of using multiple forwarders with multiple invoices, and eliminates costly inventory and related charges."
