BDP Asia-Pacific says the rapid development of Malaysia as both a regional and global transportation hub was behind its decision to open a fourth facility there since launching operations at Kuantan in 1996. The newly opened facility in Penang offers air and ocean freight logistics, warehousing and distribution, project logistics, specialized documentation processing, supply-chain management and transshipment. "The Penang office and another projected facility at the Port of Tanjung Pelapas will move us close to our expanding customer base," notes Peter Huels, managing director of BDP Asia-Pacific. BDP Asia-Pacific is a wholly owned subsidiary of Philadelphia-based BDP International.
