LucasVarity's Light Vehicle Braking System (LVBS) won General Motor Corp.'s (GM) highest award given to its worldwide supplier network, the GM "Corporation of the Year." GM selects the winner from its 30,000 suppliers based on performance relative to quality, service, and price.
Livonia, Mich.-based LVBS provides major braking systems and components to GM and almost every other automotive manufacturer in the world, according to the company.
"Our antilock brake systems (ABS) equip virtually all of GM's North American light trucks and sport utility vehicles, and we recently were selected by GM to supply it with advanced control systems for certain future passenger cars, including ABS, traction control, and vehicle stability control systems," said Steve Lunn, managing director of LVBS.
