In the spirit of the holiday season, Islandia, N.Y.-based Computer Associates International Inc. sponsored a toy drive this month to benefit abused, neglected, and homeless children under the care of Suffolk County, N.Y.'s Dept. of Social Services. Computer Associates matched all purchases made by more than 300 company CIOs and their spouses, industry analysts, and company executives. The purchases were made at New York City's FAO Schwarz. "Computer Associates and its employees are committed to supporting worthy children's charities," says Gary Quinn, an executive vice president for the company. "This event provides an ideal opportunity for Computer Associates to give back to the community by making the holidays memorable for disadvantaged children." Computer Associates supports a wide range of other charities throughout the year, including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and The Smile Train. In addition, the company matches 200% of employee donations to charities of their choice.
