Compiled ByDeborah Austin Electronic components distributor Newark Electronics, Chicago, has launched an end-to-end e-procurement solution for global aerospace and defense company BAE Systems PLC. The new system gives BAE Systems buyers access to Newark items through Exostar, the aerospace and defense online trading exchange. Newark has created customized catalogs for BAE Systems, tailored by country, which reside behind the UK aerospace company's firewall. Authorized employees currently can purchase Newark products via this system; future phases of the project include establishing electronic invoicing and payment capabilities. BAE Systems buyers also can access online expert datasheets and advice on products.
