ByDeborah Austin Florida Detroit Diesel-Allison Inc. (Florida DDA) is implementing E3TRIM -- True Replenishment & Inventory Management -- a distribution center inventory management system from E3 Corp. Florida DDA chose the solution to streamline inventory, enhance customer service, and increase efficiency of vendor relationships, says Cesar Sordo, executive vice president of operations. The E3 solution will be used at its eight distribution centers. Florida DDA is a wholly owned subsidiary of Detroit Diesel Corp., a $2.4 billion Detroit-based manufacturer of heavy-duty diesel and alternative fuel engines, automotive diesel engines, and engine-related products. Atlanta-based E3, launched 20 years ago, provides supply chain, inventory management, and data mining solutions. Its other customers include Pep Boys, Penske Auto Centers, and Stewart & Stevenson, the world's largest distributor of Detroit Diesel parts.
