The EPA is cosponsoring a brownfields conference on Dec. 6 to 8. "Brownfields '99 -- Alliances for 21st Century Livability -- Environmental Challenges and Solutions" will be held at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Dallas. The fourth annual event will include a variety of perspectives on the revitalization of contaminated properties. Participation has grown from 500 attendees in Pittsburgh in 1996 to more than 2,000 attendees last year in Los Angeles. The session tracks will include: Preparing Sites for Reuse; Financing and Making the Deal; Understanding Legal and Policy Issues; and Redeveloping for Sustainability.
