IBM Corp., through its PartnerWorld for Developers, has teamed with Atlanta-based NetVendor Inc., a provider of business-to-business Internet commerce solutions for suppliers and their customers in the industrial, electronics, and automotive markets. As part of the alliance, NetVendor will deploy its E.MBRACE Internet commerce solution bundled with IBM's hardware and software to manufacturers and distributors in those markets. The offering provides a complete solution that allows companies to automate their distribution channels and create Internet-based trading partner communities. "Companies in the industrial sector are expressing an increasing interest in e-business solutions to reduce the potential high costs and complexity of maintaining a distribution infrastructure," says Jim Corgel, general manager, IBM Global Net Generation Business. "As part of IBM's overall e-business strategy for mid-market companies, we are working with NetVendor to give these companies an easy and cost-effective way to establish an electronic trading community with all their trading partners, avoiding the expense of deploying a piecemeal solution."
