ByJohn S. McClenahen Beginning next spring in Lausanne, Switzerland, IMD (the Institute for Management Development) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management expect to offer the first of a series of joint programs for executives. IMD is based in Lausanne. The initial offering: "Leadership Dilemmas for Profitable Growth: A Top Executive Forum," which will deal with tradeoffs between making short-term numbers and competing for the future. "Driving Strategic Innovation," slated for Sloan's Cambridge, Massachusetts campus in the fall of 2003, is scheduled to be the transatlantic partnership's second offering. IMD and Sloan anticipate offering as many as five non-degree, open-enrollment programs annually on each campus, with each program consuming three to five days.
