Invensys Completes Deal To Acquire Marcam

Invensys PLC, the parent firm of Wonderware, has completed its acquisition of Marcam Solutions Inc. A leading vendor of ERP software, Marcam has 1,400 customers in 40 countries and in the latest fiscal year, ended September 30, had sales of $125 million. Invensys, formed by the merger of BTR PLC and Siebe PLC last February, is a global electronics and engineering firm. The British firm earlier had acquired Wonderware, a vendor of manufacturing management software based in Irvine, Calif. More than three-fourths of Invensys' business is automation and controls, including advanced control systems for automating industrial plants and controlling the environments of buildings, as well as devices used in domestic and commercial appliances.
