ByDoug Bartholomew i2 Technologies, a leader in providing supply-chain-management software online, has agreed to offer J.D. Edwards' One World suite of enterprise applications over its TradeMatrix online marketplace. In turn, J.D. Edwards will provide i2's TradeMatrix software to its customers. The arrangement enables i2 to broaden its scope of applications to include enterprise resource planning, most notably order-management functionality for B2B start-up companies. The benefit to J.D. Edwards will be the ability to tap a new customer base, particularly start-ups and medium-sized companies that use i2's Internet-based collaboration software through TradeMatrix. "Business-to-business start-up companies will highly benefit from TradeMatrix e-commerce solutions, including the robust J.D. Edwards suite of applications," says Sanjuiv Sidhu, chairman, founder, and CEO of i2, based in Dallas. Adds Ed McVaney, president, CEO, and chairman of J.D. Edwards in Denver, "We look forward to the opportunity to expand our reach through this agreement, and to bringing our world-class technology start-ups and e-businesses worldwide."
