Compiled ByJill Jusko Effective use of warehouse space is the focus of "Maximizing Warehouse Space: The Key to Productivity," a two-day seminar slated for July 21-22 in Princeton, N.J. The event is presented by the Warehousing Education and Research Council, Oak Brook, Ill. Designed for warehouse managers, engineers or anyone responsible for warehouse productivity, this event will provide tips for analyzing current operations; discuss the most common warehouse layout and design mistakes; offer methods to evaluate storage types, equipment and picking methods; and give tips on how to achieve the best layout for a facility. During day one of the seminar, participants will discuss the elements for planning space. On day two, participants will work with a group to redesign a fictional distribution center.
