ByJohn S. McClenahen You won't hear Gran Lindahl, who retired this past Dec. 31 as president and CEO of the Zurich-based ABB Group, talking about "old" and "new" economies. "The 'click' economy -- to me -- is not a new economy. This is just an extension of the classical economy," he insists. "For me, the 'click' economy is [simply] a tool in the toolkit" to achieve business objectives, he stresses. "To me . . . an exchange in itself does not contribute any revenues -- at least nothing to measure. But fill it with the products and systems [and] services from the classical economy, then suddenly you have revenues [and] then you have earnings there."
