Compiled ByDeborah Austin To help drive business collaboration among electronics companies, E2open -- a global collaboration network of the electronics industry -- has joined RosettaNet as a solution provider member. RosettaNet is an independent, nonprofit consortium for collaborative development and rapid deployment of open Internet-based business standards. For E2open, Belmont, Calif., RosettaNet's participation is a milestone in fulfilling one of the five key requirements of the electronics industry's global collaboration platform: support for industry standards. The other four key requirements are security management, any-to-any interoperability, enterprise-ready reliability, and global, scalable networking. E2open founders include Acer, Hitachi, IBM, LG Electronics, Lucent, Nortel, Seagate, Solectron, and Toshiba -- all of whom already were RosettaNet members. The E2open network enables collaboration among OEMs, contract manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers.
