The MK Group scored one of its most prestigious contract wins in a recent deal to install its MK Logistics software at the Library of Congress. After a three-year search for new systems, the Library of Congress chose MK Group, a unit of Computer Associates International. The software will be used to manage the receipt, inventory, and distribution of hundreds of thousands of audio/visual media and other materials. It's the first sale to the federal government for MK Group, based in Islandia, N.Y. "Because of the multiple sites the library maintains," says James Kopp, head of the library's Logistics Section in its Contracts and Logistics Division, "it was important for us to find a product that could be adapted for use at each individual location. MK Logistics was the only product to offer this option without having to buy additional software or pay extra to have something designed for our specific uses." The Library of Congress operates offices in Washington D.C., Ohio, and Utah.
